Who you are dealing with
“KomaLume” is the name this service operates under. It is not a company. It is run by:
- komalume.com
What the service does
You upload pages. We read the text on them, translate it, and give you back the pages with the translation laid over them. You can edit the result, and you can download it.
Who can use it
You must be at least 18 years old to hold an account or buy credits.
The content you upload
It stays yours. We claim nothing over it, and we do not use it to train anything.
You are telling us you have the right to upload it. The fact that the system accepted a file is not us agreeing that you do — we may stop processing, restrict access to, or remove content where the law requires it.
Copyright complaints
If you own rights in something processed here and believe it infringes them, write to support [at] komalume.com with enough detail to find it. We review every notice, and we remove or block what a valid one points at.
An account that valid notices keep pointing back to gets closed.
Credits
Credits are bought in packs and do not expire. Each mode says what a page of it costs, and pages are charged when a job is submitted.
If a job fails or you cancel it, the credits for the pages that were never translated come back automatically. Pages that were translated stay charged.
How long we keep your work
Translated pages are kept for 7 days on the free tier and 90 days once you have bought credits, then deleted. Download what you want to keep.
The pages you uploaded stay until you close your account, or ask us to delete them.
Ending it
You can stop using the service at any time. Closing your account is a button on your settings page, and it deletes your uploads, your translated pages and your glossaries. If you cannot sign in, write to support [at] komalume.com instead — we answer within 30 days. Credits you have not spent are not refundable in cash, so spend them before you close.
What we do not promise
A machine translation is a draft. It will get names, tone and jokes wrong, which is why the editor exists. We do not promise a particular quality of translation, and we do not promise the service is available without interruption.
